High Court dismissed the petition against the film 'Dream Girl 2', the matter is related to copyright
Film Dream Girl 2: Ayushmann Khurrana starrer film 'Dream Girl 2' entertained the audience at the box office, but after this, it got embroiled in a controversy. The film was accused of copyright infringement. This case also reached the court. Now the court has dismissed the petition filed against 'Dream Girl 2'.

Bombay High Court on Wednesday rejected the petition against Ayushmann Khurrana's Hindi movie 'Dream Girl 2'. The writer who had approached the court with a plea of copyright violation has been directed by the court to pay Rs 2 lakh each to producer Ekta Kapoor's Balaji Telefilms, the writer, director of film 'Dream Girl 2' and five others.
According to PTI, Judge R.I. Chhagla said that a copyright case does not stand for the same story. This is the reason why the petition filed by writer Ashim Bagchi was rejected. The court told Ashim Bagchi that he will pay a total of Rs 10 lakh to Ekta Kapoor's Balaji Telefilms, five people, including the writer and director of the film 'Dream Girl 2'.
Judge Chagla cited the 1993 Hollywood film 'Mrs. Doubtfire'. The same character was used in this Hollywood film as has been used in the story of 'Dream Girl 2'. In such a situation, the claim of Ashim Bagchi's petition will not be considered correct. Ashim Bagchi had claimed that the story of the film 'Dream Girl 2' to be released in 2023 is a copy of the story written by him in 2007. This is the reason why even in the year 2023, the High Court refused to stay the release of the film 'Dream Girl 2'. The court had said at that time that Ashim Bagchi had approached the court at the last moment. Now the petition of writer Ashim Bagchi has been rejected. The court said that the person who filed the petition is demanding copyright rights in a case in which there is no copyright issue. The court also said that there is a difference between the story of Ashim Bagchi and 'Dream Girl 2'.
