Artificial Intelligence (AI) and technology are fraught with many threats. There exists a high threat of damaging a person's reputation by manipulating their voice, images, and videos. Considering this, many celebrities have gone to court requesting protection of their personality rights. Megastar Chiranjeevi recently also went to the court and was granted interim relief in his personality rights case.

According to news agency ANI, a city civil court in Hyderabad has issued an ad-interim injunction in favor of renowned film actor Chiranjeevi. This injunction seeks to protect the actor's personality and publicity rights, including prohibiting the unauthorized commercial use of his name, image, voice, and other identifying features in all formats and media.

Regarding this matter, Megastar Chiranjeevi's legal team has also shared a press note. According to the statement, Chiranjeevi has requested the court's intervention to prevent the widespread and unauthorized use of his identifying features through merchandise, online platforms, and artificial intelligence technology.

The court stated in its order that Chiranjeevi, a renowned figure in the industry, has suffered damage to his reputation and public image due to the defendants' actions, particularly through the unauthorized use of his name, image, video memes, and merchandise. The order further emphasized that such misuse and misrepresentation of the actor's personality features, especially through digital and AI media, causes significant harm to Chiranjeevi's image and economic interests.

The order states that any use, directly or indirectly, of Chiranjeevi's name, stage titles (including 'Mega Star', 'Chiru', and 'Annayya'), voice, image, or other personality traits for any commercial or personal gain, in all formats and media, is illegal. The order also directs that all respondents be immediately notified, and further proceedings are scheduled for October 27, 2025.
