“I Feel Lonely While Eating”: Karan Johar Shares His Struggles With Loneliness

Filmmaker Karan Johar hardly skips a chance to talk about his family. Recently, he talked about everything, starting from being a single parent to finding love. Karan Johar confessed that he feels lonely while eating.
Karan Johar was asked how he feels without a partner. He said, "I'm fine now. There was a time when I really wanted love. I wanted companionship, I wanted a relationship. I went through all kinds of ups and downs, broken hearts, and unrequited love. I even made a film about it. It was very comforting. It helped me heal."
Karan Johar revealed that he was advised to go out to feel better. He replied, "Where should I go? I live here, I have my mother and two children. I have to stay here. I've been through those times. I feel lonely, that's the truth. You're most lonely during good times, not bad. Eating alone is another thing that makes you feel lonely." Karan was told that he's told the best love stories, but he doesn't have one of his own. To this, he replied, "God didn't make that couple for me."
Karan Johar's father, Yash Johar, passed away in 2004. He lives in Mumbai with his mother, Hiroo Johar, and has a very good relationship with her. He has two children, Yash and Roohi, born via surrogacy. He last directed "Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani" in 2023, starring Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh.
