Karur Stampede Case: Vijay Thalapathy Leaves for Delhi Ahead of Fresh CBI Questioning
Karur Stampede Case: The CBI will question Vijay Thalapathy again on Monday in connection with the Karur stampede case. The actor was seen leaving for Delhi in this connection. Find out what the whole matter is.
Vijay Thalapathy was questioned by the CBI on January 12th in the Karur stampede case. He was asked for further questioning on the 19th of January. He left for Delhi yesterday, Sunday. Vijay will again be questioned by the CBI in this case tomorrow.
South actor Vijay Thalapathy has left for Delhi yesterday. Airport sources said, “The actor-turned-politician left for Delhi by chartered plane at 4:15 pm yesterday.” The CBI is set to question him again on January 19th regarding the Karur stampede issue.
Vijay Thalapathy was interrogated for about six hours at the CBI headquarters on January 12th. The actor was asked to come again the following day. However, the actor asked for another date since it was the Pongal festival. The actor was therefore asked to come again on January 19th.
The incident dates back to September 27, 2025, when a stampede broke out at a public rally of Vijay's party, TVK, in Karur, Tamil Nadu. Several people were killed and injured in the stampede. At least 41 people died, and over 110 were injured. Following a Supreme Court order, the CBI formed an AIT and took over the case.
The day after the Karur stampede, Vijay apologized via social media and expressed condolences to those killed in the stampede. However, Vijay was heavily criticized for this, with many people on social media holding him responsible for the stampede.
