Zeenat Aman, a veteran actress, has been consistently sharing her thoughts on various topics since she joined Instagram. She occasionally shares old and interesting stories from her film career. This time, she has expressed her opinions on the term Aunty. She was open about calling the term Aunty derogatory.

Zeenat shared a photo on her Instagram handle, in which 'Aunty' was written on her sweatshirt. Along with her post, Zeenat wrote a long caption. She wrote that which genius has decided that 'Aunty' is a derogatory word? Certainly not me. Where would we be without the older women who are everywhere and make our lives comfortable and safe.

Zeenat added that Indian aunties can be found everywhere. They provide a shoulder to lean on, an ear to listen to your problems, hot food, a warm home, a fair rebuke, and a pearl of wisdom. She wrote that when you hear the word aunty, you may think of an irritable woman or of the older women in your life.

Zeenat wrote that I am an aunty and I am proud of it. This is a tag that I would like to wear happily. She said that in her life there was her stepmother Shamim Aunty, who took great care of her (Zeenat's) sons when they were young. She used to cook food and also take care of the children.
