Maithili Thakur is in Bihar today, where there are rumors of her joining politics. Speaking to ANI, the folk singer remembered the late singer Sharda Sinha. He said, "Not just me, the entire country will miss her. People from Bihar living outside India will also remember her. She connected the nation with the spirit of Chhath with her voice. We will all miss her."
Sharda Sinha, fondly known as "Bihar Kokila," was a renowned figure in the Indian music world, known for her profound contributions to Bhojpuri and Maithili folk music. Sinha, 72, passed away on November 5, 2024, after a long battle with cancer.
Maithili Thakur is currently in Bihar. Ahead of the Bihar Assembly elections on Tuesday, folk and devotional singer Maithili Thakur joined the BJP in Patna in the presence of BJP state unit president Dilip Jaiswal. There is now speculation that she may contest the elections. However, she stated that she has no intention of contesting.
