Manish Malhotra on Working With Gen Z: ‘Dialogue Matters More Than Authority’

Manish Malhotra is a designer who has established ties across three generations of Bollywood. Manish Malhotra holds that in order to stay in Bollywood, one needs to adjust and team up. Manish Malhotra has gotten to work with some major stars and their children as well. Here are his views regarding the young generation in Bollywood.

Manish Malhotra says, "I've worked with Chunky Pandey and now Ananya Panday. From Sridevi to Janhvi Kapoor, Shah Rukh Khan to Suhana Khan. He believes this journey is only possible if you don't approach work thinking you know better because you've worked with the previous generation." Manish emphasized that experience should drive dialogue, not authority.

Sharing his perspective on working with Gen Z actors and star kids, Malhotra said, "The moment you stop working together, the process breaks down. Today's generation responds to dialogue, not instructions."

He further adds, "The new generation is highly engaged in their work and eager to learn. I see in them a confidence in themselves and a desire to be a part of the creative process. I see my role as a bridge. I'm someone who understands the language of Hindi cinema and can also speak today's visual and cultural language. This connects with this younger generation."

On the work front, Manish Malhotra is a designer and film producer. He recently produced "Gustakh Ishq" and "Saali Mohabbat."
