Mukesh Chhabra Reveals Rigorous Casting Process Behind ‘Dhurandhar 2’ Success

The cast and crew are satisfied with how well 'Dhurandhar 2' performed. Lately, casting director Mukesh Chhabra spoke about important aspects of how 'Dhurandhar 2' was cast. He discussed how hard work was required to assemble so many cast members.

Regarding the casting of 'Dhurandhar 2', Mukesh Chhabra said that approximately 300 actors were auditioned for the film. The casting process lasted two years. In a conversation with HT, Mukesh said, "From the lead role to characters who appear for just a minute, we worked meticulously on everything. It was two years of my life, with eight assistants working day and night."

"Dhurandhar" was initially conceived as a single film, but just weeks before its release, it was split into two parts. Thus, it became a series of two films, each approximately eight hours long. Chhabra said, "Casting for each character was challenging. But Aditya's input made it easier to visualize each character."

According to Chhabra, the audience's connection with the minor characters shows that the casting was spot on. He said, "People are discussing who played Atiq Ahmed, or where Babu Dacoit came from. This means we've connected with the audience."

"Dhurandhar 2" stars Ranveer Singh as an Indian spy stationed in Pakistan. He also stars R. Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, Akshaye Khanna, Sanjay Dutt, and Rakesh Bedi. "Dhurandhar 2" is currently running in theaters. As of this writing, it has grossed over ₹587 crore at the box office.
