Prithviraj Sukumaran Praise Hindi Cinema: Recently, Prithviraj Sukumaran has appeared in the film 'Sarzameen'. In such a situation, he has praised Hindi cinema.
South's popular actor Prithviraj Sukumaran recently heaped praise on director Anurag Kashyap. According to him, Malayalam filmmakers have been motivated to perform their job better due to artists like Anurag Kashyap, Vikramaditya Motwani and Hansal Mehta.
Actor-director Sukumaran first pondered about the hardships encountered by the Malayalam industry. He told that Malayalam cinema at one point of time used to wonder how Hindi cinema brings such a good story.
He said, 'Malayalam cinema is currently going through a great phase in terms of content. We also had periods when we had to struggle with great content.
Sukumaran told PTI that 'There were times when we used to sit together in Kerala and ask ourselves, 'How is Hindi cinema doing this?' Not long ago, this new wave of Hindi cinema started with Anurag Kashyap, Vikramaditya Motwane and Hansal Mehta. We were all stunned by what Bollywood was achieving. I am sure that very soon, you will say, 'Wow, what a great year this has been for Hindi cinema.'
Sukumaran said that Malayalam cinema is also doing well these days. Hopefully, this phase of new storytelling will continue for a long time.
Sukumaran is in the news for his film 'Sarzameen'. The film was released on Netflix on Friday. The film is set against the backdrop of the increasingly volatile Kashmir. In this film, Sukumaran plays Vijay Menon, a respected army officer known for his unwavering duty and personal sacrifice. Kajol plays Sukumaran's wife and Ibrahim Ali Khan his son.
