Surya is set to rock the big screen this year with his action-packed film 'Karuppu.' Directed by RJ Balaji, the film will be released. The filmmakers shared a special poster of Surya from 'Karuppu' on their Instagram handle and also revealed its release date. They wrote, "For those who have been waiting for the release of Surya's film 'Karuppu,' it has arrived. 'Karuppu' will release in theaters on May 14, 2026."
The film "Karuppu" is the story of a lawyer who becomes possessed by a deity and fights against the injustices faced by certain sections of society. The film stars Trisha Krishnan in the lead role alongside Suriya. Indrans, Natti Subramaniam, Swasika, Sivada, Anagha Maya Ravi, Supreet Reddy, and Yogi Babu also play important roles. RJ Balaji himself will appear in a small cameo.
Surya will be seen in "Viswanath & Sons," a sentimental romantic drama directed by Venky Atuluri. He stars Suriya in the lead role. It is a co-starring Mamita Baiju and Raveena Tandon in pivotal roles. The film is scheduled for release in July 2026. He will also be seen in "47" (tentative title), directed by Jeetu Madhavan. It stars Nazriya Nazim in the lead role and Nasleen in a pivotal role. Work on the film has already begun. Silambarasan may do a cameo in it.
