Anupam Kher: Anupam Kher has criticized David Dhawan's retirement, criticizing him. He also made a significant statement about his retirement plans.
Actor Anupam Kher disagrees with pal David Dhawan about hanging up his director hat. Recently, Dhawan announced that "Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai" would be his swan song. But when Kher heard this, he lost it.
He hopped on a call with Dhawan and even brought young Varun Dhawan into the conversation- to chew out the pair. According to ANI, Anupam Kher said, "David's a buddy of mine. So when I heard he was signing off, I hit the phones to yell at him." Plus, he stressed, "Why should you decide when to stop making films if folks love what you do?"
Anupam Kher said, "My father used to say that retirement is just a thought in the mind. We are fortunate that we are in a profession where there is no age limit for retirement."
Earlier, filmmaker Karan Johar also expressed his sadness over David Dhawan's decision to retire. Karan said that David Dhawan has given a new identity to comedy films in Bollywood. The entire film industry respects him and learns from him.
David Dhawan is one of Bollywood's most successful directors. He has given many superhit comedy films in the 90s and 2000s. His last directorial venture, "Hai Jawani To Ishq Hona Hai," is set to release in theaters on June 5th. His son Varun Dhawan plays the lead role in "Hai Jawani To Ishq Hona Hai." Besides Varun, the film also stars Mrunal Thakur and Pooja Hegde.
