Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty shares a glimpse of her visit to the revered Pashupatinath Temple in Kathmandu as part of her Nepal diaries.
Mumbai, Aug 1 — Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty, currently visiting Nepal, has shared a glimpse of her visit to the revered Pashupatinath Temple in Kathmandu.
In a social media post, Shetty appeared in a vibrant yellow traditional outfit, standing with folded hands in front of the temple. She captioned the image: “@pashupatinath temple #nepaldiaries.”
Pashupatinath Temple is dedicated to Pashupati, a manifestation of Shiva. Situated on the banks of the sacred Bagmati River in Kathmandu, it is one of the oldest and most significant religious complexes in South Asia. Recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1979, the temple forms part of the seven monument groups within UNESCO’s designation of the Kathmandu Valley. The complex comprises 518 mini-temples surrounding the principal pagoda-style shrine.
Shetty was last seen in the Kannada-language action thriller KD: The Devil, written and directed by Prem. The film starred Dhruva Sarja, Sanjay Dutt, Shilpa Shetty, V. Ravichandran, Ramesh Aravind, Reeshma Nanaiah, Jisshu Sengupta and Nora Fatehi. Music was composed by Arjun Janya, with cinematography by William David and editing by Sanketh Achar.
She is currently hosting the reality cooking series Maa Hai Na, in which celebrity contestants compete in pairs—each pairing a public figure with a parent or adult child—in cooking challenges and comedy segments.
Shetty made her screen debut in the 1993 thriller Baazigar. She achieved intermittent success through the rest of the decade in action films such as Main Khiladi Tu Anari and Jaanwar.
Recently she refuted viral statements on reservation that had been falsely attributed to her, describing them as “completely fabricated” and “malicious garbage.” In a post she wrote: “I am shocked to see fake statements on reservation falsely attached to my name. This is completely fabricated, malicious garbage. Do not fall for this fake news!”
The temple visit forms part of Shetty’s ongoing travels in Nepal, offering fans a brief personal insight into her time at one of the region’s most important Hindu pilgrimage sites.
