Deepika Padukone Admits Regretting Some Film Choices: “I Wasn’t Always This Clear”
Deepika Padukone: Deepika Padukone recently revealed how she chooses films. She will be playing a supporting role in Shah Rukh Khan's upcoming film "King."
Deepika Padukone is one of the most successful actresses in Bollywood. She has worked in several hit movies within a period of 18 years. She started her career with "Om Shanti Om" and appeared in the pan-India blockbuster "Kalki 2898 A.D." However, a few of her films could not attract audiences to theaters. Deepika recently admitted in an interview that she has made wrong decisions, which she regrets.
In a conversation with Harper's Bazaar India, Deepika explained what she considers when choosing a film. "The biggest thing is authenticity," she said. Anything that doesn't feel real doesn't appeal to me. Sometimes people give a lot of money and think it will solve everything, but that's not enough. I believe in the people or the message, and I'll stick to it.
Deepika admitted that she wasn't always so clear about her views. She said, "Was I always this clear about things? Probably not. However, now I've reached that clarity. Do I sometimes look back and think about what I was thinking? Yes, I do. I learn from it. Maybe 10 years from now, I'll question some of the decisions I made today that I think are right now."
Deepika currently has two films in the pipeline. She will play a supporting role in Shah Rukh Khan's upcoming film, "King," directed by Siddharth Anand. The film will also star Suhana Khan, Abhishek Bachchan, and Rani Mukerji. The film is scheduled to release in April 2026.
Next, Deepika will star in a film starring Atlee and Allu Arjun. The film is currently being titled 'AA22xA6' and will be released in 2027.
