With a social media post, Deepika announced that she is starring alongside Shah Rukh Khan in 'King'. The news is welcome relief for Deepika's fans following her ouster from 'Kalki2'.
Deepika posted something on social media for the first time since the sequel to 'Kalki 2898 AD' was dropped. In this post, she confirmed that she is working with Shah Rukh Khan again. Deepika posted a photo on Instagram holding Shah Rukh Khan's hand. In this photo, only their hands are visible; their faces are not visible. Deepika also wrote a heartfelt note along with this photo.
In the close-up photo, Deepika and Shah Rukh are sitting holding hands. Sharing this photo, Deepika recalled the first lesson Shah Rukh taught her. Sharing the post, she wrote, "Almost 18 years ago, while shooting Om Shanti Om, the first lesson he taught me was that the experience of making a film and the people you make it with are more important than its success. I completely agree with that. Since then, I have applied this lesson to every decision I make. Perhaps that's why we're making our sixth film together?" In this post, Deepika used the hashtag #King and also mentioned Shah Rukh Khan and "King" director Siddharth Anand. She also wrote "Day One," which clearly indicates that they have begun shooting for "King."
Deepika Padukone began her Bollywood career with Shah Rukh Khan in the 2007 film "Om Shanti Om." She has since worked with him in films like "Happy New Year," "Chennai Express," "Pathan," and "Jawaan." Deepika and Shah Rukh Khan have consistently been successful on the big screen. Now, they will be seen together again in "King," directed by Siddharth Anand.
Just two days ago, the makers of "Kalki 2898 AD" announced Deepika's exit from the film's sequel through a social media post. It stated, "It is officially announced that Deepika Padukone will not be a part of the upcoming sequel to 'Kalki 2898 AD.' After much deliberation, we have decided to part ways. Despite the long journey of making the first film, we were unable to continue our partnership. A film like 'Kalki 2898 AD' deserves that commitment and much more." Directed by Siddharth Anand, "King" also stars Shah Rukh Khan's daughter Suhana Khan, Jackie Shroff, Anil Kapoor, Arshad Warsi, Rani Mukerji, Abhishek Bachchan, Jaideep Ahlawat, and Abhay Verma. In addition to "King," Deepika will also be seen in Atlee's upcoming film AA22xA6 opposite Allu Arjun.
