TV serial director Manjul Sinha died in Goa today (15 January). He said goodbye to the world after suffering a heart attack. He has directed popular serials such as 'Yeh Jo Hai Zindagi', 'Khamosh' and 'Zindagi Khatti Meethi'. His untimely death has left the world of television and cinema in great shock. With his direction, Manjul Sinha gave new directions to Indian television and was one of those few directors who gave Indian sitcoms their identity.

Manjul Sinha was born into a prestigious family that had an immense craze for cinema. His family had a cinema hall in Patna, due to which he had a deep connection with films and film distribution. He was also interested in Bhojpuri films.

He attended his high school at Sainik School Tilaiya. Manjul graduated from the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII), Pune, in 1977. Then he came to Mumbai and dreamt of a career in direction.

After coming to Mumbai, Manjul Sinha directed several small television commercials, but his first big break came with a show called 'Yeh Jo Hai Zindagi'. It was one of the earliest sitcoms on Indian television. At that time, a new dawn was dawning in the world of Indian television, and with the advent of color television, 'Yeh Jo Hai Zindagi' became a very popular show. It is said that when this show was telecast on Friday nights, even cinema halls would become empty. This show made its place in the hearts of Indian television viewers. People still remember this serial.
