Akshay Oberoi Reveals Strained Family Equations, Says He Never Used Vivek’s Name

Bollywood actor Vivek Oberoi's brother Akshay Oberoi is also an actor and he has also appeared in numerous films. Akshay has recently hit the headlines, as he spoke about how he is related to Vivek Oberoi and about his opinion regarding family relationships. With this, he revealed that hardly anyone in the industry knows both brothers.
Akshay Oberoi recently participated in a conversation with Free Press Journal, where he talked about his personal and professional life. He said, 'I think I am saying this with full confidence because no one knew that we are relatives. Nobody knew, not even the casting guy. I never used it to my advantage. I never told anybody because what would I have got?'
Further talking, Akshay Oberoi said, 'It was not like I could call them and reach out to them, you know. Unfortunately, I say this not with pride but with sadness that there was no real relationship. So, what would I call them and ask? I just kept on walking on my path.'
Answering about his career, Akshay said, 'I was very sure that nobody would help me. I had no guru, godfather or guide in this field. Now that I have started reaching some level, people are connecting with each other. Journalists ask me, directors I have worked with before, they say, 'You never told me.' And I think - what could I have told you? To share something, there has to be something, right?
Finally he said, 'Our families never got along, and here I was. Maybe we were unlucky in that regard as a family. He (Vivek Oberoi) and his father, both are very good actors, and I am proud to be from that lineage. But if we could work together, it would be fun.'
Akshay Oberoi made his acting debut with Sooraj Barjatya's film 'Isee Life Mein'. Now he will be seen in the upcoming film 'Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari', which will release in theatres on October 2.
