Om Puri cheated in his first marriage, refused 25 thousand rupees after the child died...

Actor Om Puri's first wife Seema Kapoor recently spoke about her spoilt relationship. She recounted how Om Puri got smitten with another woman while she was in her pregnancy state and their relationship became very bitter. She narrated that she got cheated upon after which she separated from Om Puri.

Seema informed that Om Puri had sent her 25 thousand rupees as compensation but that she wouldn't accept it. While having an interview with Siddharth Kannan, Seema informed that Om Puri had met Nandita (the second wife of Om Puri) while he was shooting for 'City of Joy'. It was fine at the beginning but their romantic affair spoiled everything.

Seema said, 'Everything was going well after our marriage, but that film turned my life upside down. My good friend Renu Saluja knew about this affair but she did not tell us. She thought everything would be normal after the film. I came to know about this affair much later.'

Seema further said that after some time she had realized from Om's words that he wanted a divorce. She was shocked. Then one day when she searched the actor's belongings, she found some love letters.

Seema said- 'I was shattered after seeing those love letters. I never wanted to divorce him, even if he had an affair. I wanted to make everything right because I was pregnant. The surprising thing was that he knew that I was pregnant.'

Seema further said- 'I did not say anything but he used to find an excuse to separate from me. Things got worse. Om Puri started drinking a lot. One night I decided to leave him when I was three months pregnant.'

After her divorce from Om Puri, Seema received Rs 6 lakh as alimony. However, after the death of her child, she refused to accept the Rs 25,000 sent by Om Puri. In his last moments, Om Puri called Seema and apologized.
