Thalapathy Vijay's Son Jason Sanjay Says He Turned Down Acting Offer, Focused on Directorial Debut 'Sigma'

Sigma will be the name of the movie that Jason Sanjay, the son of Thalapathy Vijay, is going to direct for the very first time. He informed us that Alphonse Puthren had offered him an acting role, which he refused. However, while discussing his first movie, he also expressed his desire to act in the future.
In a conversation with 'Ananda Vikatan', Jason shared that he was only 20 years old when Alphonse-the director of the film 'Premam'-approached him for a role, but he declined the offer.
Although he appeared in the promotional video 'Sigma Style', he stated that he currently has no interest in acting. Nevertheless, his words suggest that he hasn't completely closed the door on acting.
Regarding his appearance in 'Sigma Style', he said, "I didn't appear in the promotional song because I wanted to become an actor. Since the song isn't part of the film's narrative, I did it purely for fun."
"The purpose of a promotional song is to introduce the audience to the people associated with the film and give them a glimpse of its theme and style. That is why I danced in it."
Jason added, "When you are a director explaining a scene to actors on set, there is an actor within you as well. Right now, my biggest responsibility-more than anything else-is to release 'Sigma' and make it a success. That is where my entire focus lies. Only after the film is released will I consider whether to pursue acting or continue with direction."
'Sigma' is produced by Lyca Productions and stars Sundeep Kishan and Faria Abdullah in lead roles. Currently, the film is scheduled for release on July 31.
However, reports suggest that the release of this heist-based film might be postponed to August. This could happen to avoid a clash with Vijay's long-delayed film, 'Jan Nayakan'.
Directed by H. Vinoth, 'Jan Nayakan' is said to be the final acting project for Jason's father-Tamil Nadu CM Vijay. The film was originally slated for a January release but was delayed due to a hold-up in receiving certification from the Censor Board.
Apart from Thalapathy Vijay, the film features Mamitha Baiju, Bobby Deol, and Pooja Hegde in lead roles. It is now scheduled for release on July 23.
