Gulfam Khan on Ambani Wedding: The Hundreds of Crores Spent on Stay and Food is Obscene

While the Ambani wedding might be over, the excitement refuses to die down. With functions following one after another, each more elaborate than the previous one, we have witnessed a rather spectacular wedding worth crores. However, actress Gulfam Khan, who will be seen in Wack Girls on Amazon Prime and the new show on Dangal, Gehna, says that she has not been one to follow all the reels and other content out there on social media. “Frankly, I kept myself as least informed as possible because, as the phrase goes, 'begani shaadi mein Abdullah deewana ho jayega aur phir majnoon (idiot) bhi.' I personally had a very simple wedding because I believe money can be put to better use. The hundreds of crores spent on stay and food is obscene. If I were to spend that kind of money, I would build a better life for the villages in my country,” she says.

However, she adds that it’s also natural to celebrate getting married. “Having said that, one doesn't expect a person to not celebrate weddings and births, but it has to be done in moderation. As for celebrities under one roof, they come together many times, during celebrations, cricket matches, events for the betterment of society, etc.,” she says.
