In recent times, playback singer Arijit Singh took everyone by surprise, including his fans as well as celebrities, by announcing his retirement from playback singing. After Arijit Singh’s sudden retirement from playback singing, celebrities too have reacted to his decision. Many celebrities have asked Arijit Singh to reconsider his decision. Now, singer Palash Sen too has reacted to Arijit Singh’s retirement from playback singing. He has stated that Arijit’s decision was right.
Palash Sen shared a post on Instagram. In the post, he shared his experiences regarding his debut film as an actor, "Filhaal." In the post, he wrote, "Twenty-four years ago today, on February 2nd, my first film, "Filhaal," was released. It flopped. I was criticized by most critics, and many in the film industry trolled me. A model-turned-actress slammed me, and many others did the same. I had no interest in films anyway.
I did this film solely because I wanted to sing a song written by the legendary poet-writer, Gulzar Sahab. Having the song composed by the legendary Anuji was another dream come true for me. That was it. I really don't know why I was considered a threat. I just went there to have fun and do my job with full dedication. Working with the amazing Sushu (Sushmita Sen), Tabu, and Sanjay was a reward. Working under the direction of the brilliant Meghna was a priceless experience of my life." I have only beautiful memories and am very proud of the film from this point forward. In fact, now that it has become so successful on television, I feel very happy and grateful.
In this post, Palash also talked about Arijit's decision to retire. He further wrote, "The truth is, I know why my brother Arijit is leaving film playback. I too was on this path many years ago and chose my own path. The same path that Arijit will now follow." Palash further explained in the post that he was nominated for several Best Newcomer awards that year. However, he did not win any. He said that even though he did not win any awards, the love of his fans meant everything to him.
Arijit Singh announced his retirement from playback singing on Instagram last month. In his post, he wrote, "Hello, Happy New Year to all of you. "I want to thank all of you as listeners for giving me so much love over the years. I am happy to announce that from now on, I will not be doing any new work as a playback singer. I am retiring. It has been a wonderful journey." However, Arijit clarified that he will continue to make music and said that he wants to try something new. He also said that he now hopes that new talent will inspire him with their music.
