Indian Navy Hosts WNC Half Marathon 2025 in Mumbai; Riteish Deshmukh & Suniel Shetty Flag Off Event
Half Marathon 2025: Actors Sunil Shetty, Riteish Deshmukh, and Ahan Shetty were seen at the half marathon event organized by the Indian Navy in Mumbai today.
The Indian Navy organised a marathon in Mumbai on Sunday. Bollywood actors Riteish Deshmukh and Sunil Shetty flagged off the 10-kilometre segment of the WNC Half Marathon 2025. The two actors were joined by Krishna Swaminathan, Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Western Naval Command.
The aim of the marathon is to strengthen accessibility to and within the city of Mumbai and its people. Hundreds of runners took to the roads on Sunday morning for the 8th edition of the marathon, in the presence of Bollywood actors and Western Naval Command officials. Sunil Shetty's son, actor Ahan Shetty, also attended this event and came on stage to flag off the marathon.
On this occasion, Riteish Deshmukh told the media, "Mumbai and the Navy have had an unbreakable bond for years. Indian shipbuilding began in Mumbai. This is a Navy program to connect with the people of Mumbai and bridge the gap. Today, 23,000 people are participating in the marathon. Everyone should prioritize fitness and play a sport."
Sunny Shetty told the media, "I want to thank the naval officers for the opportunity they gave us. The 21-kilometer marathon is about stamina and fitness, but the marathon our officers run for us every day is about courage and sacrifice. It has no finish line. Marathons like this should be held more often. Events like these bring people closer."
