Nithya Menen Clarifies: ‘Kadhalikka Neramillai’ Is a Romantic Drama, Not a Rom-Com
Actress Nithya Menen revealed that the movie is not a romantic comedy as many presume but a heartfelt romantic drama.
Chennai, Jan 10 (IANS) – Actress Nithya Menen, who stars alongside Jayam Ravi in director Kiruthiga Udhayanidhi’s much-anticipated film Kadhalikka Neramillai, revealed that the movie is not a romantic comedy as many presume but a heartfelt romantic drama.
Speaking at a press conference held ahead of the film’s release on January 14, Nithya shared her excitement about being part of the project. “I am very proud of this film. I have always wanted to do a movie like Kadhalikka Neramillai—one that breaks boundaries and is fun. This cannot be categorized as a rom-com; it’s more of a romantic drama,” she explained.
Recalling how she was approached for the film, the actress said, “I first heard the narration a year and a half ago. Kiruthiga called me while I was driving and narrated the script. When I listen to a narration, I visualize the entire film in my mind. Watching it now on the big screen, I feel so happy that the film turned out to be as beautiful as I imagined.”
Expressing her admiration for director Kiruthiga Udhayanidhi, Nithya added, “I am very fond of Kiruthiga. This was a set where no one’s egos got in the way, making it a memorable experience. I’d be happy to work with this team for a lifetime.”
Kadhalikka Neramillai, produced by Red Giant Movies, features an ensemble cast including Vinay Rai, Yogi Babu, TJ Banu, John Kokken, Lal, Lakshmi Ramakrishnan, Singer Mano, Vinothini, and Rohaan Singh. The film boasts a musical score by A R Rahman, cinematography by Gavemic Ary, and editing by Lawrence Kishore. Choreographers Shobi Paulraj, Sandy, and Leelavathi have worked on the project.
With its star-studded cast and captivating storyline, the film is set to enthrall audiences when it hits theaters this Pongal.
