Ram Charan Arrives Barefoot at Vijay Deverakonda–Rashmika Mandanna Reception, Reason Goes Viral

The reception of Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna's wedding was a grand affair in Hyderabad on Wednesday. Many prominent personalities from the South film industry were seen attending the reception to bless the newlyweds. The entry of actor Ram Charan was the talk of the day in the star-studded event.

Ram Charan arrived at the reception with his wife Upasana Kamineni Konidela and was dressed entirely in black. The most notable feature was that he attended the ceremony barefoot. However, this wasn't a fashion statement, but rather a religious reason.

Indeed, Ram Charan is currently observing the Ayyappa Deeksha. This is a sacred fast observed by devotees of Lord Ayyappa, which precedes their pilgrimage to the Sabarimala temple. During this period, devotees live a life of simplicity and discipline. Ayyappa Deeksha typically lasts 41 to 48 days and is considered a time of spiritual preparation.

During this period, devotees wear simple black, blue, or saffron-colored clothing, often walk barefoot, and follow a strictly vegetarian diet. They also abstain from alcohol and other luxuries, and engage in daily prayers and meditation.

Practicing celibacy is also considered essential during this fast. Devotees do not shave or cut their hair during this period, adopting a life of complete simplicity and self-restraint. The purpose of this practice is to calm the mind, develop discipline, and fully surrender to the devotion of Lord Ayyappa.

This is why, despite attending such a large and high-profile reception, Ram Charan strictly adhered to the rules of his fast and arrived barefoot. This style of theirs is now being discussed a lot on social media as well.

Many film stars including Mrinal Thakur, Srileela, Allu Arjun, Ram Charan, Chiranjeevi, Naga Chaitanya and Shahid Kapoor attended Vijay-Rashmika's reception.
