The ₹60 crore fraud case involving actress Shilpa Shetty and Raj Kundra is investigating the company's accounts. According to news agency PTI, a police official said on Wednesday that the money trail is being investigated in the ₹60 crore fraud case involving businessman Raj Kundra and his actress wife Shilpa Shetty. Efforts are also underway to determine whether the expenses incurred by the couple were genuine.
An official said that the Mumbai Police's Economic Offences Wing (EOW), which is investigating the case, had been examining the bank accounts of a company linked to the high-profile couple since 2015 to determine whether the expenses shown in them were legitimate. He added that during the investigation of the accounts and fund flow, it was discovered that Shilpa Shetty had received ₹4 crore as fees from the company.
EOW officials are recording statements from people associated with the now-defunct company. The official said that so far, the police have recorded statements from Raj Kundra, Shilpa Shetty, and the RP (Resolution Professional) of Best Deal TV Private Limited. The actress had previously stated in her statement that she was not involved in the day-to-day operations of the company and was paid celebrity fees for appearing on the platform (Best Deal).
