Sudhir Dalvi started working in movies and then joined TV serials. He also worked in Ramanand Sagar's hit TV serial "Ramayana," where he had an important role to play in this serial. He has also worked in some other mythological and historical TV serials. 

Sudhir Dalvi began his career with the film "27 Down" (1974). In 1977, he played the lead role in the film "Sai Baba of Shirdi." The film revolves around a sick child who recovers after visiting Shirdi. The film starred renowned actors like Manoj Kumar, Rajendra Kumar, and Hema Malini. The screenplay was written by Manoj Kumar. Sudhir went on to appear in several Hindi films, including Manoj Kumar's "Kranti." In 2003, he appeared in the film "Accuse Me." He did not appear in any films after that.

In addition to films, Sudhir Dalvi has also worked extensively on television. He played the role of Guru Vashishtha in Ramanand Sagar's TV series "Ramayana." He was also a part of "Jai Hanuman" and "Vishnu Purana." He also appeared in the serials "Bharat Ek Khoj" and "Chanakya." He also played the role of Govardhan Virani in "Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi." He was last seen in the serial "Woh Hue Na Hamare."
