Mumbai, Aug 1 — Actress Neha Dhupia has revealed that Karishma Tanna and her husband Varun Bangera headed straight to the hospital to welcome their first child immediately after wrapping the shoot for her podcast Double Date, which she hosts with husband Angad Bedi.
Dhupia shared a light-hearted behind-the-scenes video on her social media account. The clip opened with the text “When the baby says ‘it’s go time’” and showed a visibly pregnant Tanna hurrying out of the house, followed by Dhupia, Bedi and Bangera carrying the hospital bag and other essentials before leaving for the hospital.
Captioning the post, Dhupia wrote: “#truestory ... as soon as we were done with @doubledatetheshow ... we packed our bags n left for the catch @karishmaktanna @varun_bangera in their cutest interview ever on our #youtube.”
The podcast episode featuring Tanna and Bangera was recorded on July 28 and released just a day before the couple became parents. During the conversation the two spoke about their relationship, pregnancy journey and excitement at becoming first-time parents.
On July 29, Tanna and Bangera announced the arrival of their son with a joint post that read: “Our little miracle. Our greatest blessing. It’s a Baby Boy.” Accompanied by a black-and-white illustration, they noted that the child had been born on the auspicious occasion of Guru Purnima.
Tanna, 42, married Mumbai-based businessman Varun Bangera on February 5, 2022, in an intimate ceremony attended by family and close friends. The couple had announced the pregnancy in April with the caption: “A little miracle, our greatest gift, August 2026.”
Tanna began her career in television and became widely known through shows such as Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, Naagin 3 and reality series including Bigg Boss and Khatron Ke Khiladi. She has also appeared in films such as Sanju and earned critical acclaim for her performance in Hansal Mehta’s Netflix series Scoop.
Dhupia’s post offered a candid glimpse into the unexpected timing that linked the couple’s final podcast appearance with the immediate start of their journey into parenthood.
