The actor Sunny Deol recalled how his father Dharmendra lent a hand for the production of his movie Ghayal despite rejections from other producers.

Sunny Deol shared a video along with Rajkumar Santoshi. He said that many years back, he was fond of the story written by Rajkumar Santoshi. He presented the script to many producers, but they all turned him down.

Sunny further explained that he then took the script to his father, Dharmendra, who was shooting the film "Partition" (1988) in Jaipur at the time. Sunny wrote, "Rajkumar Santoshi narrated the entire story to Papa, and as soon as it was finished, Papa immediately said yes."

Sunny said that he was most happy that his father was proud of him because he recognized and believed in a strong story. He said, "That trust is what made 'Ghayal' happen."

Sunny revealed that he has returned to Jaipur after so long to promote "Partition 1947." He called it a special coincidence. He said, "Papa's 'Partition' (1989) and my 'Partition 1947' (2026)... the same city, so many memories, and a beautiful journey that has come to an end."

Sunny Deol's upcoming film "Partition 1947" is based on Asghar Wajahat's famous play "Jis Lahore Nai Vekhya, O Jamya Ae Nai," which depicts the painful story of the 1947 India-Pakistan partition. The film's music is composed by A.R. Rahman, with lyrics by Javed Akhtar.

Sunny Deol plays Sikandar Mirza in "Partition 1947." The film also stars Preity Zinta, Shabana Azmi, Ali Fazal, Abhimanyu Singh, and Karan Deol. "Partition 1947" will be released on August 14th this year.
