Vijay Varma Recalls Shocking Harassment Experience During Modeling Days, Says It Almost Broke His Confidence
Vijay Varma: Recently, actor Vijay Varma recalled his early days, revealing that he faced a disastrous experience, the casting couch, when he tried his hand at modeling.
Actor Vijay Varma is well-known today for being a powerful actor. He has excelled in films such as "Gully Boy," "Dahaad," and "Darlings." However, his journey to becoming a Bollywood actor has not been an easy one.
Vijay Varma, speaking on Prakhar Gupta's YouTube channel, said, "I tried modeling a little bit in Hyderabad, on a small scale. But there I met a strange model coordinator there. He started behaving inappropriately with me, as if trying to touch me. I asked him, 'Brother, what are you doing?'"
He further explained that this experience left him deeply disappointed. Vijay continued, "When you're new, you lose courage quickly." But then I thought, if I want to act, I have to face it head-on.
After a bad experience with modeling, Vijay decided to study acting. But the path wasn't easy here either.
He explained, "I went to the Sutradar School of Acting in Hyderabad and said I wanted to learn acting. But they turned me down. They said it required commitment and hard work; it wasn't a two-day job. I felt they weren't giving me a chance."
Vijay then applied to FTII (Film and Television Institute of India), but was rejected there the first time as well.
However, he didn't give up and got admission the second time he tried. There, he studied with actors like Rajkummar Rao and Jaideep Ahlawat.
On the work front, Vijay Varma was recently seen in Vibhu Puri's film "Gustakh Ishq," which also starred Naseeruddin Shah, Fatima Sana Shaikh, and Sharib Hashmi. This film marked fashion designer Manish Malhotra's first film as a producer.
Vijay also recently appeared in the web series "Matka King," which tells the story of an ordinary cotton trader becoming a gambling don.
