Dhanush’s Idli Kadai Set for October 1 Release, Advance Bookings Cross ₹3.9 Crore

South cinema superstar Dhanush is back to wow audiences with his new Tamil film, "Idli Kadai." He will be seen alongside actress Nithya Menen. After a long wait, this family drama is set to release on the big screen on October 1st. The film's trailer and songs have already created a buzz among audiences, and all eyes are now on its box office performance.

"Idli Kadai" is set to hit theaters on October 1st, 2025. The film will be released simultaneously in three languages: Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi. This clearly indicates that the makers are fully prepared to reach a pan-India audience.

As soon as advance bookings for the film began, audiences were enthusiastic. According to initial reports, the film has earned approximately ₹3.91 crore from advance bookings alone. The Tamil and Telugu versions generated the most revenue. This enthusiasm at the ticket windows indicates that the film could have a strong opening on its first day.

The film's trailer, released last week, showcased a stunning blend of emotion, drama, and action. The trailer has further raised audience expectations. Regarding music, Saregama has acquired the audio rights for the film. The first song, "Enna Sukham," was released on Dhanush's birthday, while the second song, "Enjaami Thandhaane," was released on Ganesh Chaturthi, August 27th. A grand audio launch event was held on September 14th.

The story of "Idli Kadai" revolves around Murugan (Dhanush), a simple village boy who works at his father's traditional idli shop. Entangled in the dreams of modern life and the corporate world, Murugan yearns to move forward. But after facing the realities and betrayals of life, he returns to his roots. The film sensitively portrays the conflict between tradition and modernity.

The film reunites audiences with Dhanush and Nithya Menen. In addition, powerful actors like Arun Vijay, Shalini Pandey, Sathyaraj, Rajkiran, and Parthiban also play key roles. Dhanush is not only playing the lead role in this film, but it also marks his fourth directorial venture, marking his 52nd film.

The film's official budget has not been disclosed. However, it is rumored that Netflix acquired its digital rights for approximately ₹45 crore (approximately ₹45 crore).
