Sai Pallavi Reveals Why She Said Yes to ‘Ek Din’ Despite Initial Doubts
Sai Pallavi: Sai Pallavi made a big revelation about saying yes to her Bollywood debut film, "Ek Din." Find out why Sai didn't consider herself right for the film...
"Ek Din," the first Bollywood film produced by Aamir Khan Productions, features actress Sai Pallavi, who hails from the south. She plays against Junaid Khan, son of the renowned actor Aamir Khan. Currently, the movie is running in cinemas but it has not garnered much in box office collections for the last six days. Critics have also received mixed reviews. Now, Sai Pallavi herself has revealed why she said yes to "Ek Din" and what she liked about the script.
A video of Sai Pallavi and Junaid Khan has been shared on Aamir Khan Talkies' official YouTube channel. In it, the two actors are discussing their film "Ek Din." When Junaid asked Sai about her decision to say yes to "Ek Din," she said she was sure she wouldn't do it, as she had been a part of big-name films in multiple languages.
The actress said, "The scale of the film didn't impress me. By that time, I had done several serious films, and I wanted to do something lighthearted. A film that wouldn't require too much stress during and after filming. So, when the script came, I thought it would be like the Hollywood film "Before Sunrise," because I loved "Before Sunrise," and I thought this one would be similar."
Sai also revealed that Aamir Khan's involvement with the project was a major reason for her to say yes. The actress said, "I've been closely following Aamir Khan's career, which encompasses a variety of films and characters." Sai revealed, "Initially, I felt I shouldn't be in "Ek Din," that my casting wasn't right."
After the premiere, when Aamir Khan asked Sai to comment, Sai replied, "I don't think I was made for this role, and I think my casting was wrong. I think this role should have gone to a new actress with a little playfulness." However, Junaid disagreed with Sai's opinion, saying that the role was made for him.
Produced by Aamir Khan Production House and Mansoor Khan, "Ek Din" is a remake of the 2016 Thai film "One Day." In the film, a boy falls in love with his colleague but cannot muster the courage to confess his feelings. He wants to spend just one day with her. To do so, he goes to a sacred place and makes a wish. Then, something happens that fulfills his wish. "Ek Din" is directed by Sunil Pandey.
