Pallavi Joshi on Zeenat Aman: Pallavi Joshi reminisces about her meeting with Zeenat Aman. Find out why she considered Zeenat Aman different from other actresses...
Actress and producer Pallavi Joshi recalls her first encounter with veteran actress Zeenat Aman at the film set of the Amitabh Bachchan film 'Don.' According to Pallavi, she was simply astounded and was left speechless after experiencing the amazing charm of Zeenat.
During a conversation with IANS, Pallavi shared that she had seen Zeenat for the first time while shooting the 1978 film 'Don,' in which her elder brother Alankar Joshi played a part.
"I must have been around eight or nine years old then. I remember 'Don' was being shot at Mehboob Studios, and since my brother Alankar was part of the film, I often accompanied him. The next thing I knew, Zeenat-ji arrived on the set. My father even introduced me to her, but once again, I was left completely speechless."
What set Zeenat Aman apart from other actresses of that era? Elaborating on this, Pallavi said that her personality was vastly different from any other heroine of that time. She looked unconventional, chose unconventional roles, and everything about her-from her hairstyle and makeup to her costumes-was unlike the typical heroine. Yet, she was incredibly glamorous-so glamorous that I was left speechless; I just kept staring at her.
Despite being one of the biggest stars of her generation, Pallavi noted that Zeenat Aman was a very friendly, graceful, and approachable person. She was truly elegant. If you approached her and asked for a photograph, she would immediately say, "Yes, certainly-please, come over." She has always been a wonderful, gracious, and delightful person to work with. Decades after their first meeting, Pallavi recently worked with Zeenat Aman on the series 'The Margao Files'.
