Prabhas Reveals 'Baahubali' Success Kept Him Awake for Years, Says It Changed His Career Forever

Prabhas is making headlines about the release of ‘Baahubali: The Torchbearer’. According to Prabhas, the phenomenal success of the movie created huge pressure on him for quite a period of time. In fact, for around two or three years after the release of the movie, he used to have trouble sleeping well.

He mentioned how it is his responsibility to choose the correct projects after the success of the movie. In the documentary 'Baahubali: The Torchbearer', Prabhas explained how ‘Baahubali’ altered the perception of Telugu cinema and his future films.

Discussing 'Saaho', he recalled that the film's opening-day earnings in North India were astonishing. 'Saaho' grossed approximately ₹26 crore on its first day in the North-a truly surprising figure. Prabhas credited 'Baahubali' for this success.

He said, "It happened solely because of 'Baahubali'. There was no other reason. The opening-day collections-in any language-happened only because of 'Baahubali'."

He further added that the blockbuster's success made it possible to produce big-budget films, including 'Saaho', 'Radhe Shyam', and every subsequent movie of his. He noted that prior to 'Baahubali', his films were typically made on budgets ranging from ₹20 crore to ₹40 crore.

Despite such immense success, Prabhas admitted that the period immediately following 'Baahubali' was the most stressful phase of his career, as he was unsure about what kind of film to do next. He remarked, "It was difficult for me to decide what to do next." Will we see a massive drama like 'Baahubali' again? I was thinking of something that is visually driven.

Prabhas said, "We had a film like 'Baahubali', which made it possible for us to create films like 'Kalki' and 'Salaar'. All this happened because 'Baahubali' was made first."
