Priyanka Chopra Reveals Why She Feels Her Hollywood Performances Don't Match Bollywood Success
Priyanka Chopra: Priyanka Chopra has now become an international star. However, she still considers her Hollywood career to be less significant than her Bollywood career. Here is a look at Priyanka's future plans...
Priyanka Chopra is one of the handful of Indian actors who have managed to establish their careers in both Bollywood and Hollywood. She left for the United States at the height of her career in Hindi movies in order to explore some more avenues abroad. But, despite being part of many international productions, she thinks that her performance in Hollywood still lags behind her performance in Bollywood.
Priyanka was speaking at the Cannes Lions festival when she shared her views about her Hollywood career and her plans to explore it further by means of diverse projects. Even though she gave great performances in Hollywood movies including "Baywatch", "The Matrix Resurrections", and recently released "The Bluff", Priyanka is of the opinion that she has much better performances to offer in Hollywood.
The actress said, "In my Hindi-language career, I have worked with the finest filmmakers and actors, told amazing stories, and worked across various genres. Whereas, in my English-language work in Hollywood, I haven't done that to the same extent."
Priyanka mentioned that her next phase would focus on playing diverse roles in Hollywood, just as she did in Bollywood. "The next shift is about figuring out how I can bring the same kind of diversity to my characters in Hollywood that I was able to bring in India."
During the event, Priyanka also spoke candidly about her life after marriage and motherhood, acknowledging that her life has changed drastically. She said, "Your priorities really do change. I don't just pack my bags and head out for a film anymore. I don't do five films a year."
"I don't travel the way I used to." I am very deliberate about how and with whom I spend my time. I am navigating life as a working mother, and I now feel even greater respect for my own mother.
On the work front, Priyanka Chopra was last seen in the second season of 'Citadel' alongside Karl Urban and in the adventure film 'The Bluff'. She is now making a comeback to Indian cinema after several years.
Priyanka will appear in S.S. Rajamouli's pan-India film 'Varanasi'. Mahesh Babu and Prithviraj Sukumaran will also play lead roles in the movie. This large-scale film is set for release in 2027.
