High-Profile Drug Probe Escalates: Shraddha Kapoor’s Brother, Orry to Face ANC Questioning

In a major development in the high-profile Bollywood drug case, the Mumbai Police have summoned actor-director and brother of Shraddha Kapoor, Siddhant Kapoor, for questioning. He has been asked to appear for questioning at the ANC on November 25th to record his statement, officials said.

The case pertains to the seizure of mephedrone worth ₹252 crore in Maharashtra, in which many deep roots of the drug racket have been exposed. Another prominent figure in this case-social media influencer Orhan Awatramani, also known as Orry-has also been summoned by the ANC. Orri was to appear on Thursday but sought more time. He has now been summoned for questioning on November 26th.

According to a senior ANC official, the names of these two stars surfaced when the main accused in the case, Mohammed Salim alias Suhail Shaikh, also known as 'Lavish,' made several shocking claims during interrogation. The accused stated that people from the film industry, the fashion world, and some political figures-even relatives of notorious gangster Dawood Ibrahim-attended rave parties organized by him.

This claim led investigating officers to individuals who may face extensive questioning in the coming days. It is also worth noting that Siddhant Kapoor has previously been embroiled in controversy in a drug case. In 2022, he was detained for drug consumption during a rave party in Bengaluru. His name made headlines at the time.

The investigation has progressed rapidly since the main accused, Suhail Shaikh, was extradited to India from Dubai last month. He was first arrested in Maharashtra's Sangli district in connection with the seizure of mephedrone worth ₹252 crore. He was later arrested by the Ghatkopar unit of the ANC.

The scope of this case is not limited to the seizure; investigators are trying to understand the connections between influential people involved in this drug network and how the rave parties were funded and managed. The case has once again come into the spotlight after two prominent figures from the film industry were summoned. Their questioning is expected to reveal many new aspects of the case. Police have indicated that more celebrities may be questioned in the future.
