The actor Dharmendra was on a ventilator, and an ICU ward has been set up for him at his Juhu home. Meanwhile, there's a crowd of paparazzi outdoors at the actor's residential premises. The family is being deprived of their privacy at this intimate moment. The Indian Film and Television Directors Association (IFTDA) has objected to this. IFTDA President Ashok Pandit filed a complaint.

On Thursday, a post was shared from the IFTDA's Instagram account and included a photo of a copy of the complaint. A written complaint was submitted to the Senior Superintendent of Police, Juhu Police Station, Mumbai, on November 13, 2025, quoting IFTDA President Ashok Pandit.

The complaint states, "I, Ashok Pandit, President of the Indian Film and Television Directors Association (IFTDA), wish to lodge a formal complaint against certain unverified paparazzi who have crossed all limits of decency and morality in their recent coverage of the illness of Padma Bhushan Dharmendra Ji, one of the most respected legends of Indian cinema. It has come to our attention that certain paparazzi accounts have violated Dharmendra's privacy by entering his residence premises and recording footage and photographs of his family members without his consent. This footage has been publicly circulated for sensationalism and profit, without regard for decency or the emotional distress caused to the family."

It further states, "This act is inhumane, unethical, and a gross violation of the right to privacy guaranteed under Article 21 of the Indian Constitution." This is also a criminal offense involving invasion of privacy and defamation. Our film personalities are not objects; they are human beings who deserve basic dignity and respect. Respecting their privacy is essential, especially in times of personal crisis. You are requested to immediately investigate this matter. Identify the culprits and take appropriate legal action to protect the privacy and safety of Dharmendra and his family, as well as the rights of all artists in the Indian film industry. Thank you.
