Junior NTR revealed, told why Janhvi and Saif Ali Khan were cast in Devara Part-1
Devara: There is a discussion about the film 'Devara Part 1'. Janhvi and Saif Ali Khan will also be seen in this film along with Junior NTR. NTR has made some revelations about casting these two actors in the film.
Of late, actor Junior NTR and Janhvi Kapoor's film Devara Part 1 have been creating much noise on social media. Apart from this, this project is also the South Cinema debut of two very successful Bollywood actors Janhvi Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan. At the pre-release event of Devara, Junior NTR revealed what was the reason behind such casting.
Junior NTR says the team of Devara really wanted to do something new, just like his last outing RRR won big across the globe. As a matter of fact, just like the SS Rajamouli-directed film, the actor wanted Devara to be a film that would 'resonate across the country'.
Junior NTR talked about playing Janhvi in the film Devra. He said that producer Karan Johar suggested the name of Janhvi. In any case, for quite some time a great deal of thought was given to who should be cast for this role. While writing the script of the film, we never thought about any female character, but then Karan Johar called and said that Janhvi could succeed in this film, so we chose her.
When NTR was asked about Janhvi's character, he said, 'Yes, there was a lot of fear and tension in her. How will she speak Telugu? How will she perform in Telugu? How will she dance, and most importantly, will she be able to live up to Sridevi's legacy? But she surprised us with her performance'.
On casting Saif Ali Khan as a villain in the film, Junior NTR said that Saif should play a strong role like Langda Tyagi's character in his old film Omkara. He said, 'We wanted to create a character like Langda Tyagi. He will have a strong presence in the story'. The film will be released in theatres on September 27.
