Over the past few days, rumors have been floating that Karan Johar is planning a sequel to his 2001 film 'Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham.' Now, Karan Johar has commented on these rumors. At the same time, Karan Johar has also expressed his opinion on bringing back his big project 'Takht.'

In a conversation with Sonal Kalra for 'The Right Angle,' Karan Johar clarified that 'Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham 2' and 'Takht' are not being made. He said, "I will never make 'Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham 2.'" This isn't because 'Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham' was the best film ever made, not at all.

Every film has its flaws, but what this one holds above all else is its nostalgia. Generations have grown up watching this film. Whether they liked it or not, or what made them cry, they still love it today. I'm incredibly grateful to the universe for having the opportunity to make a film that still resonates with people. I'm incredibly proud and happy about it. Making a sequel to a film like 'Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham' is like setting oneself up for ruin.

Regarding 'Takht,' which was officially announced in 2020, Karan clarified that there are currently no plans to reboot Takht. "But 'Takht' is a film I will definitely make to the best of my ability."

The story, written by Sumit Roy, is one of the strongest scripts I've ever seen. He deserves all the credit. I believe this is the best script of my career. I hope to make this film one day.

Takht was announced in 2020. It starred Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt, Anil Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor, Vicky Kaushal, Janhvi Kapoor, and Bhumi Pednekar. However, due to COVID-19, it was delayed and has not yet been released.

While 'Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham', released in 2001, is one of Bollywood's most popular family dramas. It stars Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol, Hrithik Roshan, Kareena Kapoor, and Jaya Bachchan in lead roles.
