Payal loves the glamour of Mumbai in 'All We Imagine As Light'; Will work with two more films here
Payal Kapadia: After the success of 'All We Imagine As Light', Payal Kapadia has started working on her upcoming film. She revealed that her upcoming project that it will be based on Mumbai, the story of which she has started writing.
Payal Kapadia's directorial film 'All We Imagine As Light' has been in the news since its release. The film won the 'Grand Prix' award at the 77th Cannes Film Festival. Then it also got a nomination at the 82nd Golden Globe, however, the film missed out on getting the award. After the OTT release of the film, Payal Kapadia is reportedly focusing on her next project. According to reports, Kapadia has shared an update about the upcoming project.
According to reports, Payal revealed that she has started writing her next film based in Mumbai. She said, "It's a bit early, but I am thinking of doing two more films in Mumbai and making a trio like this."
Payal Kapadia also reacted to the criticism of filmmaker Jahnu Barua, who termed Payal's film 'technically very bad' during his tenure as the head of India's Oscar committee. Kapadia said in her statement that she did not know what he meant, and she would like to ask him if she meets him sometime in the future.
All We Imagine as Light' is an Indo-French collaboration, starring Kani Kusruti, Divya Prabha, Hridu Haroon, and Chhaya Kadam. The film won the Grand Prix at the Cannes Film Festival in 2024, besides the Best International Feature from the New York Film Critics Circle and the Gotham Awards in 2024. Former US President Barack Obama included it in his list of favorite films of the year.
