Ranveer Singh Refuses ₹40 Crore Payback as Farhan Akhtar Eyes Legal Action Over Don 3 Exit
Don 3 Controversy: The dispute between Ranveer Singh and Farhan Akhtar over the film 'Don 3' could now reach court. The Producers Guild of India has suggested this to both parties.
While actor Ranveer Singh is currently in the news for his upcoming film 'Dhurandhar 2,' he is also constantly in the news for 'Don 3.' After the release of 'Dhurandhar,' news was released that Ranveer had left the movie 'Don 3.' After this, Farhan Akhtar claimed that he would demand ₹40 crores as damages from Ranveer. However, Ranveer Singh has clearly stated that he will not pay any money. Meetings have already been held between the two parties, but no resolution has been reached. It is now being said that both 'Don 3' makers may pursue legal recourse.
After Ranveer Singh left the film "Don 3," Farhan Akhtar and Excel Entertainment demanded a compensation of ₹40 crore from the actor to compensate for pre-production losses. Meanwhile, Ranveer Singh has clearly stated that he will not pay any money. According to media reports, the Producers Guild of India has now suggested that both parties pursue legal recourse. Indeed, as an organization, the Producers Guild of India can intervene to a certain extent. If both parties remain adamant, the organization has suggested resolving the matter through legal means.
It's worth noting that a two-hour meeting between the two parties had previously taken place, but no resolution was reached. A new report from Variety India states that Karan Johar, Sajid Nadiadwala, Ekta Kapoor, Zoya Akhtar, and Punit Goenka met at Aamir Khan's Mumbai home to explore a possible solution to the matter. Emails were sent to all major producers, but only a few responded. Both parties presented strong cases. Ranveer presented emails and WhatsApp texts to present his side, while Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani of Excel Entertainment also presented theirs. Sources stated that Farhan and Ritesh remained adamant on their demand for compensation. Ranveer also refused to relent, preventing any mutual agreement.
According to the source, "As an organization, the Producers Guild of India can only intervene to a certain extent. When both parties remained adamant, the Guild members advised them to involve their legal teams and resolve the matter through proper legal channels." Speaking of Ranveer Singh's upcoming film, "Dhurandhar 2," it is releasing in theaters on March 19, 2026.
