Actor-writer Piyush Mishra has opened up about his long battle with alcohol addiction, recalling the profound impact it had on both his personal and professional lives. He also admitted that he made inappropriate and obscene phone calls to women while under the influence.
Piyush Mishra, in a recent interview, admitted that alcohol frequently led him to actions he later regretted. The actor said, "I did many things after drinking that I later realized, 'This isn't me.' I had some issues with my mother, and while drunk, I said many things that hurt her, even though I realized I should have forgiven her."
Piyush further said, "I made several inappropriate and obscene phone calls to women, and the next morning, I wouldn't remember anything about them. At that time, I had no control over myself. I was doing things I didn't want to do." Mishra said that gradually, drinking began to feel like a necessity, not a choice.
He described alcohol addiction as a persistent disease that even medical science cannot completely cure; he also said that those affected often fail to recognize its danger. However, despite his difficult battle, Mishra clarified that he never drank while working.
