Academy Awards 2026: Fans Upset as Dharmendra Missing from ‘In Memoriam’ Tribute

Many legendary actors have been honored at this year’s Oscars 2026. However, the fans were not happy because the famous Indian actor Dharmendra had not been remembered at the Oscar event. There were many Hollywood actors in the list, and the Oscars have always honored great artists from around the world. Fans had hoped that Dharmendra, a Bollywood actor, would also be honored at the Oscars, along with the Hollywood actors. But that did not happen. There were no Bollywood actors in the list of the In Memoriam section.

The 98th Oscars paid tribute to many famous late Hollywood personalities. Billy Crystal began by remembering his late friend Rob Reiner. The "In Memoriam" segment further commemorated the actors from films like "This Is Spinal Tap," "A Few Good Men," and "Misery."

Second, Rachel McAdams honored Catherine O'Hara, calling her a "storm." Diane Keaton was also remembered for her diverse roles.

Oscars have been honoring Bollywood stars for years. Previously, actors like Nitin Chandrakant Desai, Irrfan Khan, Bhanu Athaiya, Sridevi, and Shashi Kapoor have been included in the "In Memoriam" segment. Dharmendra's fans were eagerly awaiting his nomination, but he was disappointed when he was not honored.
