Actress Shefali Shah has her own style of acting. Recently, she was seen in the third season of her popular web series, "Delhi Crime." Her acting skills are often appreciated. But according to Shefali Shah, during her childhood days, she got a lot of criticism for lacking beauty. People used to ridicule her in different ways. She also shared a tip from Huma Qureshi.
In a recent conversation with Zoom, Shefali Shah spoke about being bullied as a child. Talking about the discrimination she faced due to her appearance, Shefali said, "When you're growing up, I'm not talking about my parents, but generally, you're told you're not beautiful. I was bullied in school. No one liked me. There was a girl who used to hit me a lot. She used to call me 'Tel'. A few years ago, I met her at her restaurant and I felt sorry for her. Then someone I knew would say, 'If you were thinner, you'd look so much better.' This happens a lot. People don't appreciate each other. They believe that if someone finds something beautiful or nice, they should definitely say it."
The actress further said, "If someone comes up to me and says something nice about me, I'll be very happy. It'll make my whole day. So, if you see something nice, say it. Secondly, I don't like my appearance. I don't think I'll ever be that thin." It's rare that I look at myself and say, "Oh! I look good." But I don't feel that way. When someone compliments me, "You look beautiful," I can't accept the compliment.
Shefali explained that if someone compliments me, my first reaction is to say how amazing my makeup team is. They work so hard and make me look beautiful, which is true. They work hard and make me look that way. Shefali also recalled a piece of advice Huma Qureshi gave her about accepting compliments. She said, "I remember an interview where Huma said, 'Shef, this is a compliment. Accept it. Learn to accept compliments.'" The actress admitted that sometimes she doesn't feel comfortable with herself. "Most of the time, I feel like I'm not enough. One way to look at it is that I'm low on confidence, and another way is that I'm still looking for more space, quality, and comfort."
On the work front, Shefali Shah was last seen in the third season of her popular web series "Delhi Crime," released last year. Based on the issue of female trafficking, the series co-starred Huma Qureshi in the lead role. Huma plays a negative role in the series, which is available on Netflix.
