The entire country is out in anger after the Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, terrorist attack. People in the film industry have also condemned it openly and asked for stringent action to be taken. Meanwhile, veteran lyricist Javed Akhtar has discussed taking stringent action against the perpetrators and against the neighbouring country of Pakistan.

During a program in Mumbai, veteran lyricist Javed Akhtar gave his reaction on the Pahalgam terrorist attack. Javed Akhtar said, 'This has happened not just once but many times. I request the central government to take action now. Bursting some firecrackers on the border will not work. Now take some concrete steps. Do something that no sensible person can give a speech like the crazy army chief there (Pakistan). He says that Hindus and Muslims are different communities. He doesn't even care that there are Hindus in his country too. Is there no respect for them? What kind of a man is he? He should be given a befitting reply so that he remembers it. He won't pay attention to anything less than this. I don't know much about politics. I know this much that now it is a do or die time.'

Recently, the release of Pakistani actor Fawad Khan's film Abir-Gulaal was banned in India. This decision was taken after the terrorist attack in Pahalgam. Meanwhile, in an interview to PTI, Javed Akhtar had said, 'After what happened in Pahalgam, there is no friendly atmosphere between India and Pakistan. In such a situation, asking whether Pakistani artists should be allowed to work in India is wrong. This question can be raised in better times, when the relations between the two countries improve, but right now it is not possible.' Javed said that India always welcomed Pakistani artists, but such an attitude was never seen from Pakistan's side.

YouTube channels of many Pakistani celebs have already been banned in India. The Indian government has banned 16 Pakistani YouTube channels, including big names like Dawn News, Samaa TV, ARY News and Geo News. Later their Instagram accounts have also been banned in India. Accounts of popular stars like Hania Aamir and Mahira Khan have been banned in India.
