In a conversation with the Take Two podcast, Farah Khan revealed that the strange lyrics for the song "Dard-e-Disco" were written by lyricist Javed Akhtar. She explained that Javed Akhtar often delays things. Sometimes we would wait for days for him to write two lines and give them to us. However, to write this song, I enlisted the help of his rival, Gulzar. I simply told him to write like Gulzar. After that, he wrote "Dard-e-Disco" within five minutes.

Javed Akhtar also spoke about this song. He told the Cyrus Sage podcast that Farah had asked him to write strange lyrics. The situation of the song was very strange. Akhtar admitted, "For the first time, I realized that writing lyrics with unclear pronunciation is very difficult."

The song "Dard-e-Disco" from the film became a hit as soon as it was released. Written by Javed Akhtar, the song was sung by Sukhwinder Singh along with several other singers. The music was composed by Vishal Dadlani and Shekhar Ravjiani. The song is filmed on Shah Rukh Khan.

Starring Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone, "Om Shanti Om" was released on November 9, 2007. It also featured Shreyas Talpade, Kirron Kher, and Arjun Rampal. Directed by Farah Khan, the film was produced by Gauri Khan. Made at a cost of ₹40 crore (approximately $1.52 billion) at the box office, it grossed ₹152 crore (approximately $1.52 billion).
