Deepika Padukone Shares Pregnancy Lifting Struggle Hint
Deepika Padukone shares a relatable Instagram Story about the challenges of lifting during pregnancy, subtly referencing her daughter Dua.
Mumbai, Aug 2 — Actress Deepika Padukone, who is expecting her second child with husband Ranveer Singh, continues to share relatable glimpses of the everyday challenges of pregnancy on social media.
On Sunday she posted an Instagram Story featuring a short clip of a pregnant woman lifting a toddler, accompanied by the caption: “Don’t lift anything over 20 pounds while pregnant. Me this entire pregnancy.” The video, marked with a Spider-Man sticker, is widely interpreted as a light-hearted reference to her daughter Dua, who will soon turn two.
Although Padukone has largely refrained from posting personal photographs in recent months, she has occasionally shared humorous, second-hand content that reflects common pregnancy experiences. In an earlier Story she highlighted the frequent nighttime trips to the bathroom that many expectant mothers face, posting a clip of a half-asleep pregnant woman making yet another midnight visit to the washroom.
Padukone and Singh announced their second pregnancy in April this year with a photograph of Dua holding a positive pregnancy test kit. The couple, who dated for several years before marrying in an intimate ceremony at Lake Como, Italy, in November 2018, welcomed their first child, Dua, in 2024.
On the professional front, Padukone is scheduled to appear opposite Shah Rukh Khan in Siddharth Anand’s upcoming film King. She is also attached to Raaka, directed by Atlee and starring Allu Arjun, marking her first collaboration with the Telugu actor.
The latest Story offers a brief, self-deprecating look at the physical demands of pregnancy while raising a young child, consistent with the understated approach Padukone has taken in sharing this phase of her life.
