Santosh Nair Dies in Road Accident, Malayalam Film Industry Mourns Loss

A tragic death of a star actor in Malayalam cinema. Santosh Nair met with an accident due to his car hitting a lorry. The accident occurred in Enathu, Pathanamthitta. In addition to this sad occurrence, Nair’s wife Shubhashree was injured too.

According to reports, Santosh Nair was rushed to the hospital after the accident, where he suffered a heart attack during treatment and later succumbed to his injuries.

Santosh Keshavan Nair was born on 12th November 1960 in the city of Thiruvananthapuram. He belonged to an educated family. His father, C.N. Keshavan Nair, was a former principal and his mother, P. Rajalakshmiamma, used to be a teacher. Later after their move to Ethiopia, he was brought up by his maternal grandparents.

Santosh Nair entered the film industry in 1982 with the film "Ithu Nanglude Katha." He has acted in over 100 films, playing villains, lead roles, supporting roles, and comedy roles. His latest film, "Mohiniyattam," is currently running in theaters. This film will now be his last on-screen appearance.

The Saiju Kurup-starrer "Bharatanatyam 2: Mohiniyattam" is now set for a digital release after its theatrical release. The film, which released in theaters on April 10th, is a sequel to "Bharatanatyam (2024)." The film will stream on Netflix starting May 8th. Directed by Krishnadas Murali, the story revolves around Sasidharan Nair's family, who find themselves caught in a stressful situation. The film also stars Suraj Venjaramoodu, Santosh Nair, Vinay Forrt and Jagadeesh.
