Director Payal Kapadia's film 'All We Imagine as Light' has been nominated at the 2025 BAFTA Film Awards in the 'Best Film Not in English Language' category. This prestigious award ceremony will be organized by the British Academy on 16 February. In this, the best films and artists will be honored in various categories.

This category is joined by 'Neekap' by Ireland, 'The Seed of the Sacred Fig' from Germany, 'Emilia Perez' by France, and 'I'm Still Here' pitted against Payal Kapadia's film. The plot of 'All We Imagine As Light' is based on three women in the city of Mumbai. Experiences about love, loneliness, and solitude presented in the movie are just gorgeous to see. The lead actors in this movie are Kani Kusruti, Divya Prabha, and Chhaya Kadam.

The film has already won the Grand Prix trophy on behalf of India at the Cannes Film Festival last year. Since then, it has been gaining continuous success with international awards. Recently, it also won the award for "Best International Film" at the Gotham Awards. This film ranked first in the annual list of 50 Best Films released by Sight and Sound magazine.

Other than Payal Kapadia films, 'Santosh' [Director: Sandhya Suri] and 'Sister Midnight' [Director: Karan Kandhari] have also emerged as nominees for the category for 'Outstanding Debut by a British Writer, Director or Producer'. Sandhya Suri's 'Santosh' also had its world premiere in 'Un Certain Regard' at this year's 2024 Cannes Film Festival.

British actor of Indian origin Dev Patel has also received a nomination for his directorial debut 'Monkey Man'. The film is based in Mumbai, in which Dev Patel plays a man who avenges the murder of his family. Films like 'Conclave', 'Amelia Perez', and 'The Brutalist' are also included in the major nominations at the BAFTA Awards.
