₹60 Crore Fraud Row: EOW Examines Raj Kundra, Shilpa Shetty’s Aide Rajendra Bhutada
Raj Kundra and Shilpa Shetty Cheating Case: Shilpa Shetty and Raj Kundra's troubles seem to be showing no signs of ending. Recently, the celebrity couple was accused of financial fraud, and a case was also filed. In this case, the Economic Offenses Wing of the Mumbai Police recorded the statement of a person close to Shilpa Shetty and Raj Kundra.
On Thursday, the Economic Offenses Wing (EOW) of Mumbai Police took the statement of resolution professional Rajendra Bhutada in the ₹60 crore fraud case involving businessman Raj Kundra and his wife, actress Shilpa Shetty. Rajendra is friends with Raj Kundra and Shilpa Shetty and manages their affairs.
According to PTI, an official said that Rajendra Bhutada was called to the EOW office for questioning as a witness in the case. Rajendra's statement was recorded. Bhutada was the resolution professional for Best Deal TV Private Limited, a company that went into liquidation. Raj Kundra and Shilpa Shetty were directors of this company. It was a home shopping and online retail platform.
On August 14, a case was registered against Raj Kundra and Shilpa Shetty at the Juhu police station. It alleges that they defrauded businessman Deepak Kothari (60) of approximately ₹60 crore in the name of loans and investments. The EOW has already recorded Raj Kundra's statement as part of its investigation into this case.
