Director Paul Schrader's troubles increase, assistant accuses him of harassment and going back on agreement
Paul Schrader Accused of Sexually Harassing: American screenwriter, film director, and film critic Paul Schrader's assistant has made serious allegations against him. However, his lawyer has denied these allegations.

"Raging Bull" and "Taxi Driver" writer Paul Schadrer's problems are on the rise. He has faced allegations of sexually harassing one of his former assistants and reneging on the terms to pay her. A 26-year-old woman by the name of Jane Doe accused Paul of grabbing her and kissing her against her will. All this went down during the premiere of Oh, Canada at the Cannes Film Festival last year. The woman claimed to have resisted and successfully extricated herself and left the room.
Jane Doe claimed that 78-year-old Schrader had called her to his hotel room and had declared that he was "dying", before exposing himself to her. The woman has claimed that Schrader had declared that he loved her and wished to touch her in multiple instances. The petition has quoted emails he is alleged to have written to her.
The woman's lawyer alleges that Schrader's lawyers agreed to a settlement, but after thinking, they backed out of the deal. The lawyers filed a petition in New York State Court to enforce the terms of the agreement and recover lawyers' fees.
On the other hand, Schrader's lawyer Philip Kessler said that since Schrader never signed the agreement, it cannot be enforced. He said, "We do not believe this claim of breach of contract." Kessler also alleged that the information about the harassment allegations is "full of mistakes". She said Schrader's assistant accompanied her to numerous meals and events during their three-and-a-half-year working relationship.
