Mukesh Bhatt Clarifies ‘Awarapan 2’ Release Delay, Denies Clash With ‘Dhurandhar 2’
Awarapan 2: The Emraan Hashmi-starrer was scheduled to release in April. Now, the film's release has been postponed. Mukesh Bhatt has explained why it was postponed.
A response has come from the producer, Mukesh Bhatt, regarding the rumors that the delay in the release of ‘Awarapan 2’ is because of the box office rivalry posed by ‘Dhurandhar 2’ and ‘Toxic’. He explained that this is not the reason for the delay in releasing ‘Awarapan 2’, the sequel to the movie ‘Awarapan’ that came out in ‘07.
There were reports that the movie, which had a scheduled date of release in April, is now being rescheduled to avoid a conflict of 'Dhurandhar 2' and 'Toxic'. However, Mukesh Bhatt dismissed these claims, saying, "I am not afraid of 'Dhurandhar 2' and 'Toxic.'"
Mukesh Bhatt told PTI, "The release date of 'Awarapan 2' has been pushed to May or June because Emraan Hashmi had an accident and underwent surgery during the film's shooting. Due to this, he is not allowed to perform action sequences for 45 days. Therefore, all action sequences will be shot later."
Emraan Hashmi is reprising his role in this film, directed by Nitin Kakkar. Reports suggest Disha Patani and Shabana Azmi have been signed for important roles in the film, although this has not yet been officially confirmed.
Directed by Aditya Dhar, 'Dhurandhar' is making waves at the box office. Its sequel, 'Dhurandhar 2,' will be released on March 19. 'Toxic,' starring Yash, is directed by Geetu Mohandas. This film is one of the most anticipated films of 2026. It is expected that there will be a clash between these two.
